Nicole: Red chalk on toned paper (work in process) Lately I have been working to combine the rendering of a mass drawing with the elegant simplicity of a line drawing. This drawing is not yet complete. The line work in the drapery and hand are just begun. I find line drawings extraordinairily beautiful but devilishly difficult to pull off. I struggle to get the balance between control and freedom, mass and line, but it is fascinating to try.
